STEVE ROBINSON
I started my building company back in 1986 and have remained in business building up a team of staff who help to complete projects of various sizes in and around our local area.
I grew up locally and can rarely visit a street within the local area where I haven’t previously carried out some work. I did an apprenticeship with a Local Builder, after leaving Kings of Wessex School in Cheddar.
Over this 30-
My daughter, Kelly, joined me in 2005 having previously qualified as an architect. Kelly now provides the architectural services branch of our business.
Whilst not every project we do is together, many customers have benefited from us working closely together.
As a Main Contractor I am happy liaise with other trades and subcontractors to lead the project from start to finish. I employ staff who are experienced and committed with many members working for me for over 15 years. As a team we have the right variety of skills and can work together to produce a great finished project.
I especially enjoy working with local materials and am an experienced Stone Mason. I am a good problem solver and can think on my feet to overcome any construction issues. I am friendly, approachable and trustworthy and enjoy working with customers to achieve their vision.

We were looking to convert our detached garage into a lounge and build a link extension from the main house. Kelly listened carefully to what we wanted and made helpful suggestions about how to achieve this. The plans were drawn up and we were delighted with both the proposed layout and the external appearance which blended well into the stone built garage and main house. We are fortunate that the house faces Southwest and Kelly had made full use of this to make the extension light and airy. The room proportions made the best use of the available space and change in level. After getting a number of quotes we appointed Steve Robinson as main contractor. The work was carried out to a very good standard and we were able to make some changes along the way. Steve and his workers were a cheery bunch and, given the disruption, clean and tidy.

We used Robinson Clark for the entire design and build process. Kelly was great to work with, creative but reasonably priced and provided us with a variety of options to consider. She has a sound understanding of Listed Buildings and heritage assets and the issues that go with securing planning consents for them.
